The Continuing Care for Mothers, Children, and Families Following Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV (PMTCT) Programmes Module is designed to facilitate the ongoing HIV care, treatment, and support for HIV-infected women and their families after they participate in a national PMTCT programs. This training module was created for use in the Caribbean, and targets healthcare workers in PMTCT, HIV care and treatment programs, and in other organizations involved in the ongoing care of HIV-infected women and families, including social and community welfare organizations, pharmacies, and private practices

This module allows healthcare workers to familiarize themselves with the comprehensive care needs of HIV-infected families, bridging the gap between PMTCT and HIV care and treatment programs. It is focused on improving linkages and referral systems within HIV care. In addition to numerous interactive exercises, and case studies, the Module provides recommendations for site visits. The Field Visit Guide encourages setting up these practical learning experiences to complement in-classroom training.
