As part of Brazil's program to combat HIV/AIDS, this organization helps coordinate projects and align them with international initiatives. This Portuguese-language site features news releases, an electronic HIV/AIDS library, and an index of Brazilian NGOs.
bullet Associação Brazileira Interdisciplinar de AIDS (ABIA)
ABIA informs public health policy and provides HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and assistance services. This Portuguese- language site features project descriptions and numerous related links.
bullet Far-Manguinhos
A local generic drug company which supplies 40% of the antiretrovirals used in the country's HIV/AIDS treatment program. Its generic zidovine, didanosine, lamivudine, zidovudine+lamivudine, and zalcitabine have been approved in bioequivalence tests. Generic indinavir and nevirapine are in the pipeline.
